This pensioner proved it's never too late to pursue dreams when he finally graduated from senior high school at the ripe age of 91.

Fedirico Bentayen, accompanied by his daughter Josie, proudly marched to the stage during the graduation rites in Balbalayang National High School in La Union province, the Philippines on June 29.

He received the 'Model Student of the Year' award and was given a chance to speak and share his experiences with fellow students eight decades younger than he was.

Federico's teachers shared that he reportedly had to stop schooling at a young age to work and support his six children.

The pensioner's proud granddaughter Hazel said: 'When he came across an opportunity for him to finish his secondary education, he took up an alternative learning program without hesitation, even starting at the age of 88.

'His life is an inspiration to us, his immediate family, to the clan, and to the community.'
