The majority of residents living on the Isle of Sheppey in Kent remain without mains tap water today (July 13) nearly 24 hours after the main water pipe to island failed, and a second pipe burst after the first was repaired late last night.

Southern Water have had to setup several bottled water stations around the island at short notice.

The situation is especially problematic due to the UK currently experiencing an exceptional heatwave.

Footage shows the water station at Tesco in Sheerness - with some having to use bikes to carry water - followed by dashcam footage of cars queuing for the water station in Leysdown last night (July 12).
