Chinese firefighters spray water to save livestock suffering sun stroke during transit
Firefighters sprayed water to save pigs and chicken suffering sun stroke on transport trucks due to high temperature in eastern China.
Video filmed in the city of Nantong in Jiangsu Province on July 10 shows firefighters using a water hose to spray water on the pigs transported on a truck to help them cool down.
Another clip filmed on July 12 shows firemen using the same method to spray water on baskets of live chickens on a transport truck to save them from sun stroke.
According to reports, more than 150 pigs and thousands of chicken suffered sun stroke when being transported on trucks on the highway due to the high temperature.
Thanks to the firemen, the pigs and chicken were rescued and the truck drivers did not have any financial losses.
The local meteorological observatory has issued red warning signal (the highest level) for high temperature. The temperature exceeded 40C in some part of the city.
