Workers use big ice cubes to cool overheated train track in China
Workers used big ice cubes to cool an overheated train track in southwestern China.
Video filmed in the city of Zhaotong in Yunnan Province on July 12 shows workers pushing a big ice cube along a train track to cool it on a hot day.
According to the filmer Mr Sun, the track’s temperature was extremely high due to a heatwave. In order to avoid the track to deform, workers used ice cubes to cool it down.
The temperature reportedly reached 44C in Yanjin County in Zhaotong City on July 11, which is the highest recorded temperature in the county since 1959.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
