A lorry overturned on a highway spilling tonnes of white tapioca flour and causing traffic chaos in Thailand.

The vehicle was driving along Prachin Buri province on July 9 to make a delivery to a factory in Laem Chabang port. However, the brakes allegedly failed while it was turning a curve on a steep, sloped portion of the expressway.

The lorry skidded out of control before toppling over and hitting a concrete barrier, while its cargo - dozens of bags of tapioca flour - flew out and covered the road in snowy powder.

The driver, Prapas Yingthavee, 29, and his wife were found at the scene with minor injuries. They were given first aid but declined to be taken to the hospital.

The accident slowed down travel as dunes of flour covered two lanes. Highway police later brought tractors to shovel the white dust out of the way and ease the traffic flow.
