Vendors set up stalls on a river to keep cool against high temperatures in southern China.

Video filmed in the city of Mianyang in Sichuan Province on July 4 shows residents wandering around in a market on the river with vendors selling fruit, snacks and toys.

According to the filmer Mr Zhong, local villagers organised themselves to set up stalls on the river due to the high temperature in summer.

The temperature reportedly reached almost 40C in the city.

The stalls are open from 16:00 every day.

河上搭着多顶帐篷，摊位上售卖着各式各样的小吃和玩物，有冰粉、西瓜、炸串、棉花糖等，琳琅满目。

许多村民穿着凉鞋在水上集市里闲逛，手或拿着买来的小吃、或牵着自己的孩子。孩子们手里举着水枪等玩具，玩的不亦乐乎。漫水河里还摆放着许多桌子供顾客边踩水边吃烧烤。

游客钟先生介绍，该座漫水桥位于绵阳市安州区塔水镇，由于夏季天气炎热，当地村民自发组织在漫水桥上开展集市，每日下午四点后会有摊位摆出，晚到了晚上逛集市的村民越来越多，“比较晚的时候人山人海的”。
