A policeman saved a youth from drowning in a rushing river in northern India's Uttarakhand.

The incident took place in the Ganga river, in front of Hotel Sunrise, Haridwar district on July 17.

Visuals showed a policeman holding another man and swimming a distance. He swam to the shore of the river and saved the life of the youth. The man was a resident of Faridabad.

According to reports, the two policemen, who were involved in this rescue operation, were Sunny Kumar Vikrant and Kultar Kishan of the Uttarakhand water police.
