Brave cop rescues man from drowning in northern India

A policeman saved a youth from drowning in a rushing river in northern India's Uttarakhand.

The incident happened in the river Ganga, in front of the Rawatpur Ashram in Haridwar district on July 16.

Visuals showed a water policeman jump into the flowing river with a life jacket. He swam swiftly towards the drowning youth, who was getting washed away by the river that was flowing at a pretty good pace. The youth was a resident of Delhi.

According to reports, the rescue was carried out by Sunny Kumar Vikrant and Head Constable Atul Singh who were present at the spot when the incident took place.
