Making Robots from Plastic Waste
An artist or installation artist Khairul Mahmud in the city of Padang, West Sumatra, produces works of art that are of high value.
He managed to assemble a robot whose materials came from used plastic items that were quoted from the beach area.
Plastic scraps such as drink bottles, children's toys, and plastic objects were selected according to the shape of the robot they assembled.
The robot model he assembled was inspired by fictional characters in Hollywood films. The robot was named Captain Moed.
Now the progress of working on the new robot is running at 80 percent. This means that it's still in the finishing stage.
The time spent by Khairul Mahmud to assemble the robot is almost a month.
To carry out this project, Khairul Mahmud only works alone. Currently, the robot has been ordered by the Governor of West Sumatra to be displayed at the governor's official residence.
He has been doing this installation artist since 2017.
