Officials raid illicit liquor production areas, destroy alcohol worth $1,62,828 in southern India

Law enforcement officials raided illicit liquor production facilities in southern India's Andhra Pradesh.

The incident took place in Vidyaganapathi Nagar, a suburb of Narasaraopet town, Palnadu district on July 14.

Visuals showed a few people unloading bottles of alcohol from the back of a truck. After unloading them and placing them on the ground, a bulldozer was seen crushing them. All the alcohol that was spilled was seen flowing into the drain.

According to reports, these illegal liquor bottles were destroyed under the auspices of the Special Enforcement Bureau. Officials seized alcohol worth Rs. 1,30,00,000 (USD 1,62,828.51). Seventy-three thousand five hundred seventy-four bottles of liquor were seized which had about 15,000 litres of alcohol.

Legal cases have been registered and action has been taken against those who transported this illegal liquor. Excise Superintendent Shri Chandrasekhar Reddy, Assistant Excise Superintendent D. S. Durga Prasad, Special Sub Inspector Surendra Babu participated in this program along with the Additional Superintendent of Police.
