This is footage of a children’s nursery and three homes decimated by flames on the hottest day on record in the UK.

Children were forced to evacuate as Walnut Tree Nursery in Fyfield Barrow, northwest of London, was destroyed by a blaze after a fire spread from a nearby fence.

Neighbours, including animals from the next-door vet’s clinic, have now also been evacuated.

This comes as a major incident has been declared in London after record temperatures sends has ignited blazes across the capital.

Ian Pask, 45, is a drone enthusiast who lives half a mile from the nursery and took the video after hearing about the incident on the local news.

He said: ”My reaction was total disbelief that this could happen.

“As you can see the three houses have gone down and the whole nursery is down.

“It’s unbelievable. I am glad that the kids are all safe.

“I have seen people offering places to stay and food and clothes, so the community is starting to come together which is really good.

Twelve fire appliances and crews are at the scene alongside 12 officers, who are still working to contain the fire.

Nearby buildings have been evacuated with police and the ambulance service also in attendance.

Kiddi Caru tweeted: “A neighbouring property next to our Kiddi Caru Day Nursery in Walnut Tree, Milton Keynes has caught fire and the emergency services are in attendance.

“All the children and our staff team have been safely evacuated. Further updates will follow.”

Walnut Tree nursery, run by the Kiddi Caru chain, was rated “Outstanding” by Ofstead and advertised bright, well-resourced playrooms for kids aged 0-5.

It sits next to Walton High, one of the largest academy schools in the country with 3,000 pupils across two campuses.

Smoke was reported blowing down and making visibility difficult on the V10 road, where the Red Bull F1 car garage is based.

London Fire Brigade is currently tackling 10 separate blazes across the couple after grass fires have been sparked by soaring temperatures.
