Two people were killed and 21 injured, according to officials, when Russian forces shelled the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv on the morning of Thursday 21 July.

Non-exclusive video supplied by the State Emergency Service (SES) of Ukraine showed first-responders taking the injured to hospital and extinguishing cars set alight in the incident.

Initial reports said shops, residential buildings, a medical centre, and bus stops were hit. A bus had all its windows blown out and three cars in a car park were set ablaze.

Five units of around 30 SES fire personnel were involved in the response to the shelling.

Experts from SES' Inter-regional Centre for Humanitarian De-mining and Rapid Response also inspected the affected areas and removed the remains of explosive objects they found.
