A 10ft-long python was caught swimming inside a family's bathroom tub.

The enormous creature slithered in the family's house before hiding in the tub filled with dark water in Ang Thong province, Thailand on July 19.

The house owner noticed movements on the murky water when she entered to use the toilet and realised it was a snake so she called the rescuers for help.

A female snake wrangler responded and scooped the creature out of the wet tub using a hook.

The house owner said: 'That bathroom was rarely used. I checked it that morning and saw there was something strange in the water. I called the rescuers when I saw the snake.'

After only five minutes, the rescuer was able to remove the snake from the bathroom and dragged it out of the house.

Animal rescuer Ratha Trapianthong said: ‘House owners should call us for help. Snakes are tricky to handle.'

Thailand is home to three species of python, one of which is the reticulated python which is among the longest and most dangerous snakes in the world.

In 2021, a farmer in Chonburi province came across a massive 20ft-long python that required eight rescuers to pull from the fields.
