Man rescued from tar pit in China
A dramatic video has emerged from Shandong Province, China of firemen rescuing a elderly man from a tar pit last week.
Rescuers arrived on the scene to find the man trapped in deep tar and sinking fast with only his head and one arm poking out.
To prevent the man from sinking completely into the tar, firemen wrapped his feet and arms in fabric and supported his head with a sheet.
After a a three-hour operation, the firemen eventually managed to free him and he was taken in an ambulance to hospital.
He was uninjured in the incident and sent home to recuperate.
