Residents forced to use stairs after elderly woman blocks elevator doors with hand fan
Residents were forced to use stairs after an elderly woman blocked the elevator doors with a hand fan in eastern China.
CCTV footage filmed in the city of Jinan in Shandong Province on July 20 shows an elderly woman taking a hand fan out of her bag and putting it on the floor in between the doors before walking out of the elevator.
Since the hand fan blocked the elevator doors, they could not close.
According to reports, other residents living in the community thought someone was using the elevator to move stuff and had to use stairs instead.
The elevator could not be used for around three hours until someone spotted the issue.
The elderly woman was reportedly a tenant in the residential community. Since she is a senior, she was not asked to take responsibility of the case.
