Commuters in the Russian city of Norilsk were baffled recently by the presence of a deer on a public bus.

Footage captured on July 21 showed the animal with its owner at the back of the vehicle surrounded by other passengers.

According to the filmer, some commuters were concerned the deer's large antlers might be dangerous while others seemed to enjoy the unusual sight.

Large dogs are banned from public transport in the city but the rules make no mention of deer.

The passengers decided to carry a deer in it. A small deer sat modestly on the back of the bus. Large dogs are mentioned in the rules for transporting animals on land-based public transport, but nothing is said about deer.

The opinions of the passengers were divided. Some expressed indignation at the horned neighbor and feared that he might harm someone. Others sided with the artiodactyl and its masters, urging the rest to humanity.
