Toddler has adorable reaction to violinist's performance in Australia
A violinist has shared the adorable reaction of a young girl who watched her street performance – leaving social media users in tears over the moving encounter.
Melissa Voyias, 29, a full-time classical and electric violinist, had been performing for wedding guests at The Linseed House at The Grounds of Alexandria, Sydney, Australia, when her act caught the attention of the tiny tot.
In a clip that has since gone viral with over 824,000 likes, a young girl can be seen mesmerised by the artist's cover of "Hey Brother", a song by the late artist Tim Bergling, known professionally as Avicii.
“Introducing the cutest little audience member!," she captioned the clip on Instagram (@violinbymel).
In the video, Melissa can be seen holding her electric violin and playing the classic anthem.
As she winds to a close, a tiny toddler in a white dress and bow, stands transfixed.
As Melissa winds the song to a close, the child rushes over to her, giving the artist a tight hug.
“My sister had come to the wedding with me to take some videos, as she often does and as she was filming me play she noticed cute little Kiara watching me perform," Melissa, who first picked up the instrument when she was just 4 years old, said.
"Kiara almost fell over backwards and then ran towards me to give me a big hug.
"It was such a gorgeous moment, it made me want to cry, she was just so so cute!
"She is such an adorable little girl who has a very gentle and kind nature.
"She didn't try to grab the violin at any point, she just had a genuine appreciation for the music and instrument."
Social media users have been left feeling very emotional by the sweet moment.
“Music moves the soul,” wrote one user.
“In this moment you became her inspiration she will definitely learn to play the violin and I don’t know if it’s because of that time of the month or what but this literally has me in tears the cutest thing I’ve ever seen,” added another user.
“She was so respectful. Waited until the song was over,” commented one person.
“And just like that, she will remember when she fell in love with the violin," wrote someone else.
Melissa often gets reactions from audience members, especially young people.
She said: “I've had children come up and want to have a go on the violin, lots of curious fixated looks and other little boys and girls dancing along to the music.
“Some of my other favourite reactions are from people my age, when they get hyped up to the music that I play such as EDM/house music and they party and dance along.
“Music is such a powerful tool that unites us all.
"It speaks to people of all ages and cultures and you can see that so clearly when children have such a big reaction to hearing music.
“It’s been so nice to share such a beautiful moment with so many people all over the world.
"I’m shocked at how many people have seen this video but glad to see them all enjoying the special moment and Kira’s sweet reaction."
