A landslide dragged a family's entire house into a river following heavy rain in Thailand.

The home's foundations slid into the Nan River in Phichit province's Bang Mun Nak municipality on July 24 evening, sending the wooden structure crumbling to the ground after being lashed by storms.

No one was injured from the incident as nobody was present in the house at the time.

Local authorities have ordered more than a hundred officers to evacuate two other houses located in the same area before they too start to collapse.

Deputy mayor of Bang Mun Nak municipality Annop Tangkittithavorn said: ‘This is the second time a house has collapsed. Continuous rainfall softens the soil, leaving these houses in a vulnerable position.

'We are now looking to build a dam to prevent bank erosion in the long run.'

Thailand and other countries in Southeast Asia such as Malaysia, Indonesia and Myanmar are in the middle of their tropical monsoon rainy season, which lasts until October or November.

Soaring temperatures reaching 35 degrees Celsius are often followed by powerful tropical storms with thunder, lightning, rain and flash floods.
