A bungling German driver crashed a brand new Lamborghini into a Buddhist temple in Thailand.

Alexander Levin, 31, was driving a black his 'super SUV' Urus that he had recently bought for 23 million baht or a little less than 620,000 Euros, when he lost control on a wet road after heay rain in Phang Nga province on July 21.

The ex-pat drifted off the lane while it was raining before smashing two electric poles on the way and hitting the wall of Wat Kaew Manee Si Mahathat temple.

He was stuck inside the wrecked sports car, but responding police pulled him out and rushed him to the hospital.

Lieutenant Colonel Sorasak Chandee said he believes the German could not handle the sports car. He said: ‘The foreign drive also hit a tree. We are still probing the cause of the crash, but initial investigations show the road was slippery at the time.

'We are also looking into negligence by the driver. This was a new car and he said he was not familiar with how quickly it accelerated.'

Due to the impact, the poles collapsed, and the luxury car's bonnet was wrecked, but the foreigner survived due to the airbag.

Officers have notified the Provincial Electricity Authority for repairs to prevent a power outage in the area.

The German was still recovering at the hospital while investigations were ongoing.

The Lamborghini Urus is a luxury SUV built to provide a smooth driving experience on any type of road, such as concrete, sand, ice, gravel, or rocks. Sale prices are higher in Thailand due to massive import taxes, which disappear into government coffers.
