These are the amazing ruins of Mardale Green, a once sunken village in Cumbria which has emerged from the depths as water levels continue to drop in England.

The old community in the Lake District once housed a church, school and a hotel. It was first flooded in the 1930's.

Haweswater Reservoir supplies drinking water to residents of Manchester.

Despite a small amount of rainfall over the Cumbrian fells, the water levels are still well below normal heights on what is said to be 'the driest July since 1911'.

This has revealed old roads, walls and even a stone footbridge.
