A baby python was caught hiding inside a car engine in Thailand.

The tiny creature slithered from the undergrowth in a family's garden and squeezed into the small gaps of the vehicle in Chonburi province on July 24.

It then crawled into the engine and hid between the wires, prompting the house owner to call the rescuers for help.

Footage shows the small snake being searched in the car before it was pulled out by a pair of tongs from the engine.

Motorist Rungroj Shingnoi, 57, said: ‘The python had slithered to the front car fender. I already sprayed insecticide in it to force it out but it had gone too deep.'

The rescuers had to unscrew some engine parts to create a space that was wide enough to pull the snake out.

Eventually the team found where the creature was hiding and took it out. The snake was taken away to be released back into the wild.
