Video captured the moment of The woman using her bare hands to turn the tea leaves on a hot pan over 100 degrees Celsius to dry the tea leaves in Lang Son.
According to the filmer, the woman lives in the mountains of northern Vietnam. She is one of the famous artisan tea-producing families in the area. Instead of using the dryer, the woman still uses a hot pan to dry the tea. She said using a hot pan she can feel the temperature so that the tea leaves are properly dried. She has been doing tea drying for nearly 20 years. Now her hands no longer feel hot when touching the 100-degree Celsius pan.
The craft of processing tea leaves with a hot pan has been around for hundreds of years in the mountainous areas of northern Vietnam. Today, with modern technology, tea dryers have gradually replaced manual methods. But families in the area still keep the traditional method of processing tea leaves with a pan.
