A border police helicopter on its way to rescue paragliders crashed into a mountain in Gudauri, Georgia, on July 29.

Footage filmed by @davai_lama_ shows a large explosion erupting after the aircraft crashlanded into the mountainside.

The country's MIA released a statement: "Today, in the vicinity of Gudauri, during a paragliding flight, two persons fell on a rocky slope. A helicopter belonging to the border police was involved in the rescue operation, which lost control and crashed during the event.

"At this stage, according to the confirmed information, there were four crew members on board the helicopter, as well as two rescuers from the Emergency Management Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and two medics from the Emergency Coordination and Emergency Assistance Center of the Ministry of Health.

"The Ministry of Internal Affairs continues rescue measures for the paragliding instructor, accompanying passenger and persons on board the helicopter."

The helicopter of the border service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) of Georgia crashed on July 29 near the mountain resort of Gudauri.

During the ongoing operation to rescue crashed hang gliders, the helicopter of the border service lost control and fell to the ground. On board the helicopter, in addition to the crew members, were rescuers and doctors.
