Japanese carpenters are building a luxurious dog house that costs $150,000.

Designers from the Osaka-based design company Bunkaizai Kozo Keikaku create the beautiful structures using cypress wood.

They call the tiny houses with traditional Japanese architecture design ‘Inudono' which means ‘dog' and ‘landlord'.

Pet owners who want to buy one for their pooches would have to wait from six months to a year after placing their order.

The makers described their dog houses as following the principles of 'Zen Buddhism'.

They added: ‘This dog hall is produced by an active palace carpenter, an experienced sheet metal craftsman, and an engraver under the supervision of a repair engineer who has worked on many cultural property repairs.

‘The design is based on the style of Zen Buddhism, which was an architectural style that was introduced along with Zen Buddhism during the Kamakura period.'

The exterior dimensions are 3.9ft-tall and 4ft-wide while the opening interior is 1.3ft-tall and 1.29ft-wide. An Inudono will be available on the designers' website starting September 1.
