A priest saved a baby deer that was getting chased by jackals after it got separated from its mother in central India's Madhya Pradesh.

The incident took place near Jatashankar temple in Sanodha village of Sagar district.

Visuals shot on July 30 showed a baby deer moving around the temple while two officials were seen standing beside it.

According to reports, a baby deer got separated from her mother a few hours after the birth. The deer got chased by a few jackals who was later saved by a priest. He kept the little one inside the temple.

On the second day in the evening, the priest called and informed the forester, Devendra Rai, on the Hirani farm. In the morning the forester arrived with his assistant and saw the deer in the temple.

Rai says that he cannot leave the child now as it is very young. When it starts eating the grass, is when he will leave it so that it moves around by himself.
