Truck crashes into pavement after driver forgets to set brakes while buying fried chicken
A truck rolled downhill and crashed into a pavement after its driver forgot to set the brakes while buying fried chicken.
CCTV footage captured the moment the large vehicle rammed into an electricity post and narrowly missed a pedestrian walking on the pavement in Songkhla province, southern Thailand, on July 22.
The driver Kittiphan Tanpawan, 40, said: 'I parked the truck waiting for its cargo to be unloaded, then I went out to buy food at the fried chicken store.
‘Later, I heard the sound of the truck's tire blowing out, and when I turned to check what had happened, the truck had already rolled away and crashed into the electric pole.'
He added he was confident the brake was functioning before leaving the truck.
Traffic officers towed the 10-wheeler away from the scene. One of its front tires had been flattened and the driver's cabin was also damaged.
Police are now checking the CCTV footage in the area to determine the cause of the accident.
