The rising water level in the Ganges river has left locals in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, concerned.

Heavy rains in the area have caused an increase in the river's water level, leading to 84 of the city's ghats being submerged. Ghats are the riverfront steps that lead to the banks of the river.

The rise in the water level of Varanasi Ganga has taken the form of a boom. Due to the rains in the hilly areas, the rise in the water level of Ganga is continuing and now it is slowly moving towards the warning point.

Interconnection of 84 ghats has been lost. One has to go from one ghat to another through water. There is silence at the Ganges gate of Kashi Vishwanath Dham. The permanent cremation ground of Manikarnika Ghat has also been submerged in water due to the increase in speed.

Water has started reaching the upper steps of the Ghats.

In such a situation, the restlessness of the people living in the coastal areas has increased. The district administration has instructed everyone to take special precautions.

Local boat man said" In these days Ganga water lavel has much increased so local police administration has close the boat in varanasi.its effected for our business.
