Mesmerising bubbling cauldron of water captured in Cumbria, England after heavy rain
This Mesmerising cauldron of water was captured in what is locally known as ‘the salmon jump’ on the River Kent in Kendal, Cumbria.
Heavy rain hit the region overnight with river levels rising to 2.033m or just over six and a half feet on Tuesday 2 August 2022.
The impressive bubbling trough of raging water is a result of rain hitting the Cumbrian and Lake District fells.
The water runs off the hills and flows into the River Kent which eventually leads into Morecambe Bay and the Irish Sea.
Salmon use the step from the lower level to higher level from late September to November.
