Heavy rains trigger landslide in Philippines mountainside
This is the terrifying moment heavy rain triggered a landslide in the mountainside in the Philippines.
Footage shows the soil collapsing next to a village in Tampakan, South Cotabato on July 18. Earth and rocks flowed down the slope and also swept away trees in the area.
Resident Marilyn Molejon said: 'There ground was probably loose because of the continuous rains.'
The landslide reportedly did not cause any injuries or structural damage.
The Philippines and other countries in Southeast Asia such as Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand are in the middle of their tropical monsoon rainy season, which lasts until October or November.
Soaring temperatures reaching 35 degrees Celsius are often followed by powerful tropical storms with thunder, lightning, rain and flash floods.
