Bangkok's Khaosan Road is experiencing an upturn in business with increased tourism
Khaosan Road has seen a revival of tourism following the Thai government's recent relaxation of entry restrictions for foreigners. Traditionally regarded as a destination for budget travellers, the area is attracting upmarket visitors for whom many establishments are catering. There are clothing, street food, cannabis and massage places and extreme music levels
Many businesses were closed for two years because of the Covid pandemic. The Ministry of Tourism forecasts 8 million visitors in 2022. In 2019 the figure was almost 40 million. Filmed on 30 July.
