A group of beachgoers managed to set free a 4-foot-shark that was caught in a fishing line and had become stranded on Daytona Beach, Florida.

The footage was captured on August 2 by a mother visiting the beach with her children.

A group are seen surrounding the struggling shark as some manage to cut off the fishing line attached to its body.

Once the line was removed, one man dragged the 4-foot fish back into the sea where it was able to swim away.

The filmer told Newsflare: "Us and a few beachgoers got to witness a 4-foot-long shark get set free from a fishing line.

"The fisherman cautiously dragged the shark back into his home in the ocean a few times until the shark was able to swim away on its own.

"It was a very cool experience to watch!"
