Villagers have protested against the 'cruel military junta oppression' they claim they are facing in Myanmar.

In the latest in a string of recent rallies, the activists - members of a group called 'Shwe Nwe Thway' - staged a demonstration in the Yin Mar Bin township of the Sagaing region on August 2.

Footage shows the demonstrators, including some young children, defiantly raising their fists and carrying banners that said: 'Persevere Shwe Nwe Thway.'

The Shwe Nwe Thwe group is composed mostly of youths from various villages, including war-torn Yin Mar Bin.

Myanmar has suffered ongoing unrest and uprisings from rebel groups following the removal of well-liked leader Aung San Suu Kyi in a military coup last February. Soldiers have responded with barbaric force to protests.
