Shocked auto mechanics dragged an 8ft-long snake from a car engine in Thailand.

Garage staff Werayut Malaiporn recorded his colleague remove the serpent from the engine compartment of a pickup truck in Phetchabun province on August 3.

Footage shows the workers flushing out the reptile using a hose. They manage to uncoil it from the machinery, but were sent into a panic when the snake's body flies towards them instead.

The mechanic is seen spinning around with the creature in his hands while the rest of the grown men fled in terror. They later pin the animal's head to the ground with a stick before releasing it away from the shop.

Werayut said: 'I saw the snake slither into the engine. Luckily, it did not bite anyone.'
