Water floods village after river overflows in central India

A village got flooded with rainwater after a river overflowed in central India's Madhya Pradesh.

The incident happened at the Ashti village in Betul district on August 4.

Visuals showed water having flooded the whole village. The roads were submerged under floodwater which flowed at good speed. It was learnt that the Madhu river was in spate and the water from it flowed into the low-lying areas, out of which is the village.

Water also entered the houses of people spoiling goods. Some were seen walking with luggages on their heads as they waded through the water. Fear have struck the people in this area as the water has caused a lot of damage to their lives in the ongoing monsoon.

The police have appealed to the villagers to find safe spaces. He also ensured that the water level has started slowly decreasing.
