China’s longest wooden arcade bridge was burnt down in a huge fire.

Video filmed in the city of Ningde in Fujian Province on August 6 shows the 98.2-metre-long and 4.7-metre-wide bridge collapsing in a huge blaze.

The Wan'an Bridge is more than 900 years old. It was built in Northern Song Dynasty, burned down in the 47th year of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, and rebuilt in the seventh year of Emperor Qianlong's reign (1742).

Photos at the end of the video shows what the bridge looked like before the recent fire.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
