This is the scary moment a terrified homeowner found a giant python slithering across his washing machine.

Ju Meen, 25, watched the deadly reptile as it emerged from under his kitchen sink in Bangkok, Thailand, in the early hours of the morning on August 3.

His terrified wife and mother contacted the local animal rescue team but nobody was brave enough to catch the snake because of its size.

The family watched the python exit the wooden home through the window and plunge into a nearby canal.

Ju Meen said: 'It was terrifying. My mother was in shock when she woke up at 4 in the morning to drink water.'

'The reptile specialist allowed the snake to leave my house on its own as it was too big and they were afraid that capturing it may destroy my home's structure.'

'I live next to a canal so I think the python came from there. Fortunately, it did not hurt anybody.'

The reticulated python like that seen in the video is found throughout Southeast Asia, where they live in forests, swamps, canals and even in cities, causing them to come into conflict with humans. The species is one of the world's largest snakes and can eat humans, cats, dogs, birds, rats and other snakes.
