Shocking footage from California's Riverside Police shows how a robbery suspect ploughed through cars on a dual carriageway after allegedly carjacking an Amazon Prime truck. On Monday (25July2022) at approximately 5:18 p.m., Riverside Police received calls reporting two home invasion robberies at a mobile home park in the 2900 block of the city’s Atlanta Avenue. While officers were responding, they learned this same suspect also just carjacked an Amazon delivery van before fleeing the mobile home park. Officers made contact with the Amazon driver and were able to locate the stolen delivery van through GPS tracking - as well as receiving several calls of an Amazon delivery van colliding into vehicles along the Arlington Avenue road. Officers spotted the stolen delivery truck on nearby Victoria Avenue and attempted to stop it. In scenes resembling the computer game Grand Theft Auto, the suspect led them on a pursuit through city streets toward the 60 Freeway. He crossed the central reservation on to the eastbound Freeway. and continued on for several minutes when he intentionally collided with three occupied vehicles. The delivery van became disabled west of Day Street and he ran on foot across the westbound lanes of the freeway in his attempt to evade arrest. He could not climb over the tall barrier wall and pursuing officers safely took him into custody. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries to any of the victims who were attacked, robbed, and struck by this suspect, although he did cause significant damage to several vehicles while fleeing apprehension. Quintin Jarnall Larks, 32-years-old of Las Vegas, was arrested on suspicion of the crimes and taken to a local hospital for medical clearance. He was then later booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for attempted murder, home invasion robbery, carjacking, assault with a deadly weapon, reckless evading of police, and suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs causing injury. He is being held on $1 million bail. “This suspect posed a significant threat to our community,” stated Captain Chad Milby, who oversees the Field Operations Division. He added, “The composure and professionalism our officers, field supervisors and dispatchers performed during this intense and chaotic situation not only led to the apprehension of a very dangerous criminal, but demonstrated the high level of training our department goes through to keep Riverside safe.”
