A stray dog stuck between two walls was rescued in Thailand.

The three-year-old white pooch reportedly looked for a hiding place as it was frightened of the loud fireworks being set off in Phatthalung province on August 3.

It found the tight space between two houses and squeezed himself in, but could no longer come out after pushing himself too deep.

The dog had been crying as it struggled to come out until a resident from one of the houses heard it and called for help.

The house resident Bing Warraluck said: ‘My neighbours said they heard a dog's whining coming from my property. We were shocked when we found a fluffy dog inside.

‘We believe it was running away from loud fireworks and came running into the wall. I'm glad the dog is alive.'

The team tried to pull the dog out of the gaps but it was too big and wary. To save the dog, the house owner allowed the volunteers to smash through her concrete wall using a long pick axe.

A hole that was big enough to pull the dog out was made and the rescuers successfully freed the dog after half an hour.

The house owner adopted the uninjured dog after the incident.
