London Fire Brigade crews removed a number of gas cylinders from the houses on Hereford Road in Feltham as they could explode when exposed to heat. Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters were called out on Sunday night, 7 August to deal with a massive woodland fire that broke out in the rear gardens of the houses along the road. Grass in the gardens was extremely dry and the fire was spreading quickly. It took the firemen three and a half hours to bring the fire under control. 60 residents were evacuated, no injuries were reported. Hereford Road fire became the third one in a row in Feltham near Heathrow Airport during a very hot and dry week.
