Dozens of beachgoers were left in a panicked state as a string of blasts rocked a Russian air base Novofedorivka on the western coast of Crimea.

At least one person died as a result of a series of explosions that occurred on the afternoon of August 9 near the village of Novofedorovka in the west of the annexed Crimea. This was announced by the regional Ministry of Health. According to the latest data, 13 people were injured, including two children.

The Russian Ministry of Defense said that several aviation munitions detonated on the territory of the Saki airfield located there.

The airfield, controlled by the Russian military, is located deep in the rear - more than 200 kilometers from the nearest Ukrainian positions in the Kherson region. But as can be seen in the video published on social networks, two explosions occur simultaneously on different parts of the airfield. Military experts suggest that these could be "arrivals" of missiles fired by Ukraine.
