Violent Fiery Crash at Intersection Sends Two to the Hospital
HEMET, CA - On 08/10/2022 at approximately 11:10 pm, Hemet Fire Department responded to reports of a traffic collision with fire at the intersection of Sanderson Ave and Devonshire Ave.
Firefighters located a red sedan on fire on the right side of Sanderson Ave just north of the intersection with Devonshire Ave. Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames and located a female driver and passenger who managed to self extricated from the burning car. The sedan sustained major front end damage as well as fire damage.
Crews also located a bordeaux colored sedan with major damage crashed on the sidewalk on Devonshire Ave, just east of Sanderson Ave. The vehicle sustained extreme damage to the rear and heavy damage on the remaining sides as well.
The driver of the bordeaux car was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition and one party from the red sedan that caught fire was also transported with unknown injuries.
Witnesses at the scene stated that the bordeaux vehicle was rear ended at high speed by the driver of the red car that burst into flames soon after the collision although at this time there is no official confirmaton of facts and the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
