A journalist found a snake in a printer while typing news at his home in Indonesia.

Footage filmed in Agam district, West Sumatra province, on August 10, shows a brown snake hiding inside a printer.

The man named Yusrizal Karana then pryed the snake out of its hiding place where the printed paper came out.

According to Karana, the discovery of the snake began when he was typing news on his laptop. Just then he heard crackling sounds in the printer.

"I was surprised, the printer was off, and the cable wasn't plugged into the mains, but why does the printer seem to be on? I took a peek and saw the snake's tail," Karana said.

Karana pried with a stick until the snake came out of the printer. The snake, which was initially thought to be a venomous species, then entered the box under the printer.

“I took the printer box containing the snake out of the house and put it in the yard. The snake came out of the box and went into the garden,” Karana added.

He let the snake go because it was a type of mouse-eater that was not venomous to humans.
