Police officers used a robotic lifeboat to save a boy drowning in sea in eastern China.

Video filmed in the city of Weihan in Shandong Province on August 9 shows a robotic lifeboat operated by police officer rescuing a drowning boy in the sea.

According to reports, a 15-year-old boy swimming in the sea could not get back to the shore.

Due to the strong winds and huge waves, police officers used a robotic lifeboat to save the boy.

After the boy grabbed the lifeboat, he swam to the shallow area and then the police officers took him onto the shore together.

The Deputy Director named Gong Zhengqing of Shawo Police Station said to Shandong television that the robotic lifeboat is light and easy to carry.

Gong said: "The endurance of the robotic lifeboat is 30 minutes and it has fast speeds. It can also be controlled at a distance of 800 metres. Without entering the water, the rescuers can carry out the rescue with precise control."

近日，山东威海荣成市某海边，一名男孩在海中游玩时被风浪冲走无法上岸。危急时刻，当地警方操控水上救生机器人，成功救回男孩上岸。

8月9日18时许，威海市公安局海岸警察支队沙窝派出所接到警情求助，一名15岁男孩在海里游泳，但一直无法上岸，急需救援。“根据警情，我们迅速穿戴救生装备，携带水上救生机器人抵达现场。”威海市公安局海岸警察支队沙窝派出所副所长龚政清告诉记者，当时情况紧急，他们发现男孩处于距岸边数百米外的海中，且被离岸水流冲向更深处。

男孩已经体力透支，头部时隐时现，不时被海浪掩盖。由于当时风急浪大，民警根据研判，立即启动水上救生机器人。

龚政清和同事操控机器人穿过海浪，快速抵达男孩位置。男孩抓到机器人后借力向浅水区回游。待男孩近岸后，多名民警立即涉水上前，合力将男孩营救上岸。经初步检查，男孩身体并无大碍，民警将男孩带回派出所休息后，通知其家长接回。

“后期我们了解到，这名男孩开始在沙滩浅水区游玩，海水大概到膝盖位置。突然从后面来了一个两米高的大浪，把他拍晕了，随后被卷到深水区。等他惊醒后，就学着踩水自救，一直等待我们救援，可以说心理素质和自救意识还是很好的。”龚政清说。

龚政清介绍，配发的救生机器人轻便易携带。“续航有30分钟，速度很快，可以实现800米远距离控制。救援者不用入水，就可以精准控制实施救援。（视频由山东台提供）
