Shocking video footage filmed at a zoo in China shows the moment a young bear was brought down and savaged by a group of tigers.

The young Formosan black bear is believed to have wandered into a tiger pen at Shanghai Wild Animal Park.

In the footage, the 3-year-old bear rises on his back legs to scare away the stalking cats but is tackled from behind and quickly mauled by the four tigers.

The footage was taken by a zoo visitor, as other tourists cry out in horror at the terrifying scene.

Zoo staff intervened, but the bear died from its wounds within minutes.
