Angry protesters burn mannequin head with dictator Min Aung Hlaing's face tied onto it
Angry protesters burned a mannequin with Burmese dictator Min Aung Hlaing's face tied onto it as the country spirals towards a civil war.
Members of youth organisations marched to the Revolution Park in Yangon, Myanmar on August 13 condemning the brutality of the military junta lead by former army general and incumbent Prime Minister Min Aung Hlaing.
They held coloured flares and banners while declaring that 'military dictator Min Aung Hlaing and his cohorts have nothing to do with this country, so they can quickly go to their respective hells. Let the good fortune in Myanmar be fulfilled without them.'
Using a torch, they set alight the disembodied effigy of the Burmese strongman.
The strike was reportedly led by the Octopus Youth Organisation, with other youth and student groups also attending.
Myanmar has suffered ongoing unrest and following the removal of well-liked leader Aung San Suu Kyi in a military coup last February.
Soldiers responded with barbaric force on civilians leading to widespread condemnation and financial sanctions. Rebel groups and civilian militias around the country have been locked in a series of ongoing clashes with the ruling military.
