STORYLINE:
The Israeli municipality of West Jerusalem today demolished an events hall in Isawiyya neighborhood of East Jerusalem under the pretext of construction without a permit, reported WAFA correspondent.
She said Israeli police cordoned off the area at the entrance of the neighborhood, where the hall is located, as the municipality bulldozer proceeded to knock down the metal roof and walls of al-Salam Hall.
The hall owner, Yousef Muheisen, said he had built the hall 10 years ago and that four families live from it.
Using the pretext of illegal construction, the Israeli municipality demolishes houses on a regular basis to restrict Palestinian expansion in Jerusalem.
