A group of travellers sparked a Devon and Cornwall special operation. Police have confirmed arrests have been made as part of an operation at Tregunnel Hill in Newquay. It's after reports of a heavy Police presence in the area shortly after midday. The force has confirmed officers are currently at the site as part of a "dynamic policing operation" They say it's in connection with numerous alleged burglaries and driving offences linked to a group currently residing in the area. A large policing presence is currently in the area in connection to numerous burglaries and driving offences linked to group currently residing in the Tregunnel Hill area. Initial arrests have been made and full details will be made available following the completion of this policing operation.". At one point scores of police in riot gear are seen running down the hill to stop a group of families who had run to a fence at the bottom of the area. Vehicles were seen being loaded onto flat bed trucks to be taken into custody. A large area of the town including its major holiday car park were cordoned off during the operation.
