Russia shelled a residential district of the city of Kharkiv, Ukraine, on August 17. The military strike killed at least six people and injured 18.

Footage filmed yesterday night (August 17) shows firemen working in the rubble and emergency services on the site of the shelling.

The Mayor, Igor Terekhov, said on Telegram that the strike caused a fire in a building. A huge blaze can be seen in the clip.

Ukraine's President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said that the attack is "despicable and cynical”.

Russia has tried to take over Kharkiv since the invasion of Ukraine on February 24. The city has never fallen under Russia's control but keeps suffering attacks from the air.
