Swiss 'car train' lets drivers enjoy rural scenery by transporting whole cars
This unique 'car train' in Switzerland lets car drivers enjoy the scenic view by transporting their automobiles while they are still in their vehicles.
Footage shows the open-sided Lötschberg car train traveling to the municipality of Täsch in the Canton of Valais on June 19.
Tour guide Pakhun Kongprapan who filmed the video said: 'It is taking a car on a train through a tunnel with a total length of 14 kilometres. It takes about 15 to 20 minutes to go through the end of the tunnel, saving travel time.'
The Lotschberg car train plies a route from the Canton of Bern to the Canton of Valais. It cuts through the Bernese Alps, shortening car trips while giving passengers a brief break from driving.
