Ping-pong robot beats humans at science fair in Thailand
A ping-pong robot beat humans at a science fair in Thailand.
Footage shows the agile 'Pongbot' serving balls at students and returning their shots during games of table tennis at an event in Bangkok on August 18.
The robot's skills attracted more people to its booth, with adults challenging Pongbot to a game of table tennis but without success.
Pongbot has different interactive modes which can be customised using software installed on a tablet.
The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation minister Anek Laothamatas said at the event: ‘We have organised the fair for young people to learn about the use of scientific knowledge in their lives.'
Pongbot is part of the five-day National Science and Technology Fair 2022 held at Samyan Mitrtown Building from August 17 to 21.
Other inventions found at the event included Virtual Reality simulations, environmental-friendly cleaning products, and plastic alternatives.
